WHERE DESIGN AND VISION CONVERGES
Commercial Design
|January 2026
India's workplace design industry is in the midst of a decisive transformation.
-
What was once driven by efficiency, standardisation, and cost optimisation is now shaped by collaboration, culture, and experience. Across corporate offices, coworking hubs, campuses, and mixed-use developments, the conversation has shifted from “how spaces look” to “how spaces work together.” Design today is less about silos and more about systems, where architects, designers, developers, manufacturers, and end users collaborate closely to create environments that are agile, human-centric, and future-ready.
It was this spirit of shared evolution that defined the Commercial Design Awards, an evening that brought together some of the most influential voices shaping India’s commercial interiors and workplace ecosystem. More than an awards ceremony, the event emerged as a reflection of how far the industry has come, and a glimpse of where it is headed.
The evening opened with a welcome address by Bibhor Srivastava, Managing Director - Events, ITP Media Group, who set the tone by acknowledging the rapid pace at which India’s commercial design sector is evolving. He highlighted how workplace design today sits at the intersection of architecture, technology, sustainability, and human behaviour, making collaboration not just beneficial, but essential.
He noted that the Commercial Design Awards were conceived to recognise this collective effort, where design excellence is no longer the outcome of a single discipline, but the result of coordinated thinking across stakeholders. As organisations rethink how people work, gather, and belong, the role of design has expanded, and so has the responsibility of those shaping it.
