ALASKA AIRLINES IS no longer content being a West Coast workhorse. The Seattle-based carrier is reinventing itself—routes, aircraft and image included—as it sets its sights firmly on the global stage. In August, Alaska unveiled two landmark transatlantic routes, a striking new livery and a strategy that makes clear that by 2026, the airline will be a very different player.
