India, currently looking to become an essential actor in the global semiconductor industry, has experienced a significant increase in its regions of industrial development. Gujarat was the first state to unveil its Semiconductor Policy within a year of the Central Government's announcement of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) in 2021.

Tata Electronics

In partnership with Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), Tata Electronics is building a mega fab in Dholera. The fab is expected to be ready by 2026 and will have a monthly production capacity of 50,000 wafers.

Kaynes Semicon Pvt Ltd The Union Cabinet approved a 3,300 crore project for Kaynes Semicon Pvt Ltd to establish a semiconductor manufacturing unit in Sanand, Gujarat.

Gujarat Semiconductor Policy 2022-27 This policy offers substantial additional capital assistance, making Gujarat a magnet for semiconductor businesses.

CP PLUS and L&T Semiconductor Technologies These companies are collaborating to develop Indian IP SoCs and AI CCTV products.

Cyient Ltd Cyient Ltd is launching a subsidiary for ASIC design and chip sales.
