CES took centre stage earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada, to kick-start the new year, giving us a glimpse of what the future holds for tech and auto enthusiasts worldwide. From self-driving cars to infotainment systems to AI-powered gadgets and the latest and greatest semiconductors powering a new breed of notebooks, CES 2025 presented itself as a diverse hub for the latest innovations consumers can expect to see in stores throughout the year.

Chipset Showdown

Stealing the limelight away from everyone was Nvidia, the world's most valuable semiconductor company, which has become the engine of the generative AI revolution that's taken the world by storm in the last couple of years. At CES, Nvidia expectedly announced a new generation of GPU with Blackwell technology from its AI chipsets - the RTX 50 generation of GPUs, which are fuelled by massive gains in computational performance apt for games and AI, further fuelled by its next-gen DLSS 4.0 technology that enables its affordable RTX 5070 to deliver similar performance to the current generation flagship RTX 4090.
