|April 05, 2025
With an estimated business impact of Rs 3 lakh crore, Mahakumbh 2025 cemented its position as not just a religious event but an economic powerhouse, where commerce, culture, and community merged seamlessly.
SPREAD over 45 days, with more than 65 crore devotees taking a dip in the Sangam, from global celebrities to the common man, the recently concluded Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj was truly a confluence of spirituality and commerce. Touted as the world's largest human gathering, Mahakumbh 2025 not just reaffirmed India's spiritual traditions but also showcased the seamless interplay of commerce and faith.
As per statistics, the Kumbh Mela has been a revenue-generating powerhouse. The 2013 edition yielded Rs 12,000 crore against an investment of Rs 1,017 crore, while in 2019, earnings skyrocketed to Rs 1.2 lakh crore. With an estimated Rs 7,500 crore expenditure this time, Maha Kumbh 2025, according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and the Uttar Pradesh government, managed to generate a staggering revenue of approximately Rs 3 lakh crore. Maha Kumbh 2025 proved that faith and business can not just coexist but thrive together. Brands across industries found unique and respectful ways to integrate with the devotional landscape, leveraging the event to build lasting consumer connections while contributing to the festival's grandeur.
Retail's Grand Opportunity
The Indian retail sector left no stone unturned to mark its presence at this mega congregation. From pop-up stalls and immersive brand activations to special marketing campaigns and CSR initiatives, companies leveraged the event to connect with millions of devotees and boost sales.यह कहानी BW Businessworld के April 05, 2025 संस्करण से ली गई है।
