A SUPPLY AGREEMENT BETWEEN WESTGOLD RESOURCES AND WOOLLAHRA GROUP HAS BOLSTERED INDIGENOUS EMPOWERMENT IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

FOSTERING MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIPS

In recent years, several Australian miners have worked to ensure that the Traditional Owners of the lands in which they operate have a voice during key decision-making processes.

One of these companies is Westgold Resources, a gold miner with operations across the Southern Goldfields and Murchison regions of Western Australia.

“Our business practices are designed to foster strong and respectful partnerships, acknowledging the Traditional Ownership of the lands we operate on,” Westgold managing director and chief executive officer Wayne Bramwell told Australian Mining.

“We are equally committed to increasing economic participation for Indigenous Australians, through employment and training opportunities and purchasing from Indigenous suppliers.”

Symbolising this commitment is Westgold’s supply agreement with Woollahra Group, a 100-per-cent-Indigenous-owned cleaning products distributor based in Perth.

Woollahra specialises in servicing the mining and facilities maintenance sectors, particularly through Surekleen, its cleaning products manufacturing arm.

“Together, we offer a comprehensive range of industrial-grade cleaning products, laundry powders, degreasers, disinfectants and sustainable alternatives, including our return plastic and soap recycling programs,” Woollahra managing director Chris Schmid told Australian Mining.
