FANCY A SUPERCOMPUTER with wheels? Buy a new Mercedes-Benz CLA, then. Its onboard computer apparently runs up to 280 million functions per second-qualifying it as a supercomputer, according to Mercedes.

It's brainy, then, but the CLA is also a very impressive executive car.

Later, you'll be able to buy a 1.5-litre petrol version too, but the 250+ EQ electric version is the sole offering for now. It's rear-wheel drive and comes with an 85kWh (usable capacity) battery and a 268bhp electric motor. Next year, the options will expand to include a cheaper 200, with a 58kWh battery and around 200bhp, plus a 349bhp 350 4Matic with Tesla Model 3 Performancerivalling pace.
