I think how you handle adversity is sometimes the measure of a person. And, as you know, when it's gone badly in the workshop, the best thing to do is walk away and have a nice cup of tea – there's no point in yelling, throwing things and getting upset.

In today's case it's a 1970s Corvette that's been fiddled with by 140 different people and stuff is happening. One piece of advice: Please take no notice of the internet. This is the umpteenth time I've gone looking for information and the people in one forum were talking nonsense that wasted my time.

So I calmed down, had a cup of tea and then went back to it. Sure enough, I was able to solve the problem. It took literally five minutes. The shortcut is to stop and think!
