Okay, we’re not exactly throwing out the anchor, but a little deceleration is most definitely required every now and then. With just a few weeks remaining until the first round of the 2023 British Superbike Championship, it’s almost time for the 40-plus strong grid of BSB riders to spring into action.

It’s at this point where all of that tough, gruelling pre-season prep will be put to good use – but hold up a second, we are not out of the woods just yet. There’s still time to mess things up. It’s entirely possible that you’ve just completed the most well-planned pre-season training programme known to man, but if you don’t approach each race weekend in the correct manner, it’s very easy to fall short of your full physical potential come game day.
