Q With your vast knowledge in the field can you shed some light on how the manufacturing industry has evolved over the last few years?

The manufacturing industry has seen a remarkable transformation in recent years, influenced by technological advancements, changing market demands, and global disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. A key driver of this change is Industry 4.0, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which integrates digital technologies such as robotics, automation, IoT, AI, machine learning, and digital twins into manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and innovation. 3D printing has also gained momentum, particularly in sectors like aerospace, automotive, and healthcare, enabling rapid prototyping and the creation of complex, customised parts with minimal waste. Meanwhile, supply chains are becoming more digitised, using technologies like blockchain and AI to improve visibility, control, and resilience. To meet growing consumer demand for personalised products, manufacturers are adopting flexible, on-demand production models.
