GENTARI IS DECARBONISING FLEETS
Commercial Vehicle
|July 2023
Gentari signed multiple MoUs to reinforce its India commitment and development pace. Sumesh Soman takes a look at the multiple partnerships aimed at decarbonising fleets.
Gentari is the renewable energy arm of Malaysia-headquartered Petronas and the company is going aggressive on its footprint and maintaining a steady pace in delivering decarbonisation to key markets globally. In India, the expansion onslaught is being done through a series of partnerships and key investments. Through its affiliated entity Amplus Power Supply Pvt. Ltd., the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors, where the latter (Tata Motors) would deliver 5,000 units of the Tata Ace EV over three years. The MoU includes the delivery of 1,000 units in the first year for deployment in cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata.
To mark the delivery of the first batch of 100 Tata Ace EVs over the first quarter of this fiscal (Q1-FY24), a vehicle handover ceremony was held at the eighth ‘Smart Cities India Expo’ in New Delhi. Gentari is the official ‘Green Mobility Solutions’ partner between Shah Yang Razalli, Gentari’s Chief Green Mobility Officer and Ashish Tandon, Senior General Manager, Product Line - SCV and PUs, Tata Motors Ltd.
