THE ELECTRIC JAECOO E5 shares, as you might imagine, most of its design and interior and platform with the combustion 5, save for the engine and transmission bit plus a few design touches (like the grille).

Instead it gets a 61.1kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack and a 201bhp permanent magnet synchronous motor, said to be good for a 7.7sec 0-62mph sprint and a WLTP combined range of 248 miles.

It can be charged only at up to 80kW, but there's also a three-phase-capable 11kW onboard AC charger, plus it can handle single-phase electricity too, of course.
