The tech and making of the Mahindra BEVS is rather interesting as experienced by Rahul Ghosh

Modern automobiles are laden with technology and it is getting even more serious with the advent of electric cars. Every bit of the vehicle has more electric and electronic gadgetry which is all connected to mechanical hardware. So how does all this tech work and most importantly how does it all come together to make a car. Mahindra invited us to their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra to take a deep dive into the making of the Be 6 and the XEV 9E. It was quite an immersive session and just brought forward the incredible amount of work that has gone into these machines. Not just that, the entire factory has also been tailored in a way that quality can be kept under a strict check.

1. The tyres on the SUVs are ultra-low RRC and come with wider centre grooves and strong side shoulder which according to the company offers a good balance between efficiency and performance.

2. The battery cage is kept as strong as possible.

3. The battery pack is mounted on the floor, and the sills are strengthened to ensure better safety in a crash.

4. More strengthening is done on the chassis to ensure a stronger cage.
