The Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is back in a new generation, V214 and this time, the three-pointed stars have showcased how they use their understanding of what their customer needs to be the best-selling luxury brand in the country, year after year

Achtung! CXOs

If you want to know the difference between a chairman and a CXO, just look at the two apex saloons from MercedesBenz: the E-Class and the S-Class. The CXO is still the boss, but he’s a working man who still needs productivity without compromising on luxe appeal and some quiet time. In 2024, the gap between them is smaller, and whilst the S-Class is where you want to be when you make it, the E-Class is the perfect stop-gap along the way. This new E-Class LWB you see here is the V214, the largest, most luxurious E-Class to date, and even in the base E200 spec that we’ve driven it takes the E nameplate that much closer to S. But when it comes to managing luxury, productivity all while retaining the core drivability the E-Class needs to do it the best, so we took the new E to find out how it stacks up.

imageAs is usually the case with every new iteration we see today, cars are getting larger. The new E-Class LWB is no different. It’s longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor, albeit by a small margin. The wheelbase is also longer by 15mm, which—along with some tweaks to how the interiors are laid out—makes the cabin feel significantly more spacious. But before jumping into the cabin, let’s discuss the design.
