Sleek Renault hints at Laguna successor

THE Paris Motor Show is shaping up to be another big event for Renault. Alongside a production version of the R4 is the Emblème concept.

This BMW 3 Series-sized car shows not just the brand's intention to keep building a larger model, but also the powertrain it's developing for it.

That set-up combines batteryelectric propulsion under most circumstances with a small hydrogen fuel cell to act as a range extender. The 40kWh battery pack and 214bhp e-motor are capable of driving the Emblème for "several hundred kilometres", says Renault, with the fuel cell adding around 350km (217 miles) to the range.
