Nitisha’s work began with a realisation about the fading art of traditional cooking. “Traditional cooking practices are almost as precious as any crafts,” she asserts. Her Smokeless Cookstove Foundation addresses the loss of culinary heritage while improving health and reducing biomass dependency. Collaborating with women, she co-developed mud-based rocket stoves that cut fuel use by half, prioritising their needs for time, health, and self-reliance.
