'Rooh' is an architectural studio, located in the heart of Kakkad.

Conceived like an art gallery where the workspace breaks conventional office layout, each design reflects art and sculpture and a commitment to sustainability.

The name 'Rooh' is an Arabic word which means 'my soul' - a soul space for the architects to design and develop their art of architecture. The traditional red oxide and concrete flooring, and the building waste, which was created by the demolition of the rear wall, were used to make the partition block along with the jali, creating a sustainable approach to the design. The mould then refunctions the duty of a planter box in the facade of Rooh. This design reflects the owners’ artistic thoughts without adhering to a specific architectural timeline. They didn't rely on existing theories to explain their vision; instead, they aimed to create a unique framework of art and its application within the current landscape. The palette consists of natural shades, chosen with a sustainable approach to materials. In this work, there is a blend of natural materials through asymmetrical applications, showcasing them in their raw form.
