My delightful daughter showed very little interest in alcohol in her teens and she remains largely sober to this day. I put it down to a fair amount of aversion therapy – she became quite adept at giving her stepfather and me the side-eye if either of us was ever a bit skew-whiff, and at her part-time bar job, she was very quick to point to the sign behind her which declared she served drinks not drunks.
