Brooke, Jackson and Summer Warne pay tribute to the “dorky, blokey dad” who gave up his brilliant Test career to hold them tight as they grew up

The entire world loved Shane Warne but even that adulation pales in comparison to the incredible bond his three “amazing” children shared with the cricket superstar who could not have been prouder of his beautiful kids.

“Without banging on and on about the joy they bring to my life and sounding [too] soppy... my children fill me with laughter, joy and above all – love,” he declared in a touching Father’s Day post on Instagram.

“I’m so proud of them. It’s difficult to describe the love you have for your own children, but it makes you smile every time you look at them. My children are my number 1 priority and always will be. They inspire me to be the best person I can & motivate me on a daily basis.

“Brooke, Jackson and Summer you inspire me daily and I love you to the sky and back.”

Last week, as they grappled with the terrible and cruel loss of the dad they adored, they broke their silence to pay tribute to the larger-than-life cricket star whose shocking death at 52 has left them utterly bereft.

“Dad, this doesn’t feel real and doesn’t make sense that you are not here with us anymore. It doesn’t feel right, you were taken away too soon and life is so cruel,” wrote Brooke, 24, who is being comforted by her mum Simone Callahan and boyfriend Alex Heath.
