A great gadget if done well and a potential replacement for TV if done right, are portable projectors the future?

Roughly about the size of a soda can with a high-quality fit and finish and a distinct split between the top and bottom halves, the GV1 is an attractive little gadget that wins over your heart even before it wins over your head, or eyes. Bottom half is the speaker chamber, top half is the 200 ANSI lumens DLP projector.

Although you can get an image size up to 100in, resolution is limited to 480p. No, this isn’t 2012, but GV1 didn’t get the memo it seems. You can still stream 1080p content, it will just be downscaled automatically. The head can be tilted by 15d to aid in ease of placement and a auto keystone makes its even easier.

Based on Android 7 with an Aptoide marketplace instead of a Google Play Store does have its limitations and besides Netflix and YouTube, most other apps are either irrelevant or disabled for the Indian market.

AirPlay or Android casting can be done without any additional settings but you can’t simply cast anything or everything from your mobile device either. Android phones get a bit more leeway but iOS mirroring is limited to native videos and YouTube only currently.

Using it as a Bluetooth speaker isn’t a bad idea as it actually sounds balanced, with a semblance of bass too, which is impressive for a box of this size. Battery life is great with upwards of 3hrs while watching a movie and or more as a speaker.
