Amazon adds to its fantasy drama catalog with Carnival Row. The upcoming American neo-noir series follows mythical creatures escaping from their ravaged homeland to a new city, where the tension between citizens and immigrants bubbles to the surface.

The eight-episode series stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, who play Rycroft Philostrate and Vignette Stonemoss, respectively. Delevingne’s Vignette is a faerie refugee who flees to the neo-Victorian city of Burgue, where she must deal with human prejudice and long-harbored secrets. Meanwhile, Bloom’s Rycroft is a human detective who rekindles a dangerous affair with Vignette while investigating a string of murders.
