SEAMER selection headaches are the issue this week for Gloucestershire as they prepare to host Glamorgan in an early season tussle.
Last season’s sixth-place finishers in the second division of the County Championship got off to an excellent start this term with a five-wicket victory over Kent last weekend.
And the victory for Richard Dawson’s men was also achieved without left-arm seamer David Payne and last year’s leading wicket-taker Liam Norwell.
Norwell is feeling his way back to fitness with an appearance for the Second XI against Glamorgan this week and could be drafted in on Friday, but faces competition to get back in after an impressive bowling performance in Canterbury.
Overseas signing Dan Worrall took match figures of 4-45 against Kent whilst Craig Miles claimed 4-60 and Matt Taylor 6-69.
Winter signing Ryan Higgins also returned career-best first-class figures of 5-22 in the second innings, leaving head coach Dawson with some welcome selection headaches.
