Mumbai Indians Predicted XI For WPL 2023

Mumbai Indians (MI), who are the most successful Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise with five title wins to their name, will make their Women’s Premier League (WPL) entry with the inaugural edition of the women’s T20 league. At the first WPL auction held in Mumbai, they purchased 17 players, six of them overseas, even as they exhausted their purse of Rs 12 crore. India Women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur was their first purchase. Harmanpreet was expected to be among the top buys at the WPL auction. However, while Smriti Mandhana was purchased for a whopping Rs 3.4 crore by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), MI acquired the services of Harmanpreet for a relatively nominal Rs 1.8 crore. England all-rounder Natalie Sciver-Brunt, who was the Player of the Match as England beat India in the T20 World Cup, was purchased by Mumbai for Rs 3.2 crore. Further, after an intense bidding war with Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz, Mumbai bagged the services of pacer Pooja Vastrakar for Rs 1.9 crore. Mumbai also signed New Zealand cricketer Amelia Kerr for Rs 1 crore and young Indian batter Yastika Bhatia for Rs 1.5 crore. Mumbai were also extremely lucky to pick up West Indies captain Hayley Matthews for Rs 40 lakh. As MI prepare for the inaugural edition of the WPL, we predict the team’s playing XI for the competition.
