Early on Sunday, June 19, the Alcyon team assembled for the 21st stage of the 1927 Tour de France. At 7am, on the cry of “Partez,” they rolled away, bound for Dieppe, 180km away. Fifteen minutes later the Alleluia-Wolber team approached the start line to await the call that sent them on their way. Another 15 minutes and it was the turn of the J-B Louvet squad. It was a pattern that would be repeated throughout the Tour.
