There is a basic deck with three card types set into separate piles in the display. Players choose three activity decks (out of seven) to play with. You take the chosen decks, shuffle them, and draw two cards from each to add to the display. You also set out the path boards, placing them next to the three activity decks to mark which path is associated with which deck. Finally, each player places a meeple at the start locations for each path.
