Canon M50 mark ii
Asian Photography
|May 2021
The Canon M50 mark ii is the predecessor of the original M50, which is one of Canon’s best-selling camera since it was launched in 2018. And with the launch of the new version Canon is looking to continue their momentum in this segment. Priced at ₹59,000 along with the 15-45mm kit lens, the Canon M50 ii is targeted towards amateurs, vloggers and hobbyists. Here’s a detailed review of the camera
-
Design, body and look:
In terms of design, body and look nothing has really changed in the Canon M50 ii as compared to the original M50. It has nearly the same body, size, button layout and even looks and feels the same. And honestly there wasn’t much that needed changing as well. The M50 ii is compact and feels solid in the hand. But while the camera is compact, the buttons are slightly smaller for however this might differ as per the size of your fingers.
On the inside, you still have the same 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor. However this new sensor has been developed nearly 2 years after the first one, so it should’ve benefitted from sensor advances during that time. But one thing that is worth noticing is that like the M50, this camera is also not weather sealed, which is something that Canon missed. For the target audience that the brand is catering to – like vloggers and amateurs who travel a lot – weather sealing is essential as they probably don’t take too much care of the camera.
What’s new?
Now since this looks very similar to the M50, we know you must be wondering what is new in this camera? Well that’s a tough question to ask honestly and much of a Catch 2020 sort of situation. Because this camera is nearly 80-90% similar to the M50, but the remaining 20% that has been changed is something that can offer a lot.
Infact a lot of the new things that are offered have been carefully thought after and are really targeted to people who like to shoot videos. This is especially a good thing because the consumption of videos has increased phenomenally in the past few years.

The Rise of Street Couture Photography
Street couture photography has taken over fashion culture in a way few trends have before. It blends high fashion with real world grit, turning sidewalks into runways and everyday people into style subjects. This shift did not happen overnight. It grew from a mix of social media influence, shifting brand priorities, and a global appetite for authenticity. What used to be a niche style is now a major force shaping how fashion is captured, consumed, and imagined.
