Learning a New Skill or Hobby During the Pandemic

Are your kids constantly singing a chorus of “I am bored”? Instead of focusing on the (very long) list of what you can’t do, here are some things they’ll love doing. Now that we are staying home more, it is a great time to pick up a new skill or hobby.

My two children, who are 11 and 8 years old, have really upped their cooking skills during this time. My 8-year-old son can make eggs many ways (sunny side up, omelets and scrabbled). My daughter has taken more to baking and loves making cookies, brownies and muffins. Both now require just light supervision in the kitchen and help taking pans in and out of the oven. Maybe you aren’t a cook yourself? Now is a great time to take some virtual classes and do it together!
