THE BBC’s Olympic coverage has left viewers fuming within hours of the first events in Tokyo.
There were claims that it had been “scaled down” in comparison to previous years as a result of a sub-licensing deal with US digital giant Discovery.
The attack came ahead of the digital giant becoming the primary rights holder in 2022.
Viewers wrote online that gymnastics, rowing and tennis were being squeezed out, with the corporation only screening two live events at a time. BBC One and the red button prioritised the road cycling on Saturday.
