US Fund Invests ₹6,598 Crore In Jio Platforms

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led conglomerate Reliance Industries announced on Sunday that U.S. fund General Atlantic will buy a 1.34% stake in its Jio Platforms digital unit for Rs 6,598 crore ($870 million).

With this investment, Jio Platforms, which includes the company’s telecom business Jio Infocomm, has raised a staggering Rs 67, 194.75 crore from investors including Facebook Inc, Silver Lake and Vista Equity Partners in the last four weeks.

The investment values Jio Platforms at an equity value of Rs 4.91 lakh crore and an enterprise value of Rs 5.16 lakh crore, Reliance said in a statement.
