Stonehenge calendar use is uncovered

- MARTIN BAGOT

Solar date stones

SCIENTISTS have cracked how Stonehenge worked as a calendar, helping ancient Brits track time.

The stone circle measured days, weeks and months in a solar year of 365.25 days, according to researchers.

That calendar had 10-day weeks and extra months. It is similar to those used at the time in ancient Egypt and the findings could be evidence of links between Britain and other civilisations.
