Brussels Cash Helped Fund Wuhan's ‘Covid Leak' Lab

The European Union has helped fund the Chinese laboratory believed by many to have leaked Covid-19 and triggered the global pandemic.

Brussels has pumped in tens of thousands of pounds into the Wuhan Institute of Virology over the past six years.

By the end of 2023, the facility will have received more than £189,000 from the European Commission.

One MEP is demanding more answers after British intelligence agencies suggested it is “feasible” a leak from the lab led to the pandemic and 3.5 million deaths worldwide.

Cristian Terhes, from Romania, yesterday said: “The European Commission must disclose in detail what research they financed at the Chinese labs in Wuhan and why.
