TOP-OF-THE-TABLE Spartans took a giant stride towards the league title with an emphatic 2-1 win over a Stourbridge side riddled with injuries.
The margin of victory was more compelling than the score line suggests as Spartans dominated throughout.
Stourbridge’s prospects were heavily hampered just before kick-off when the dangerous Matt Dodd was ruled out with injury and had to be replaced by Drew Canavan.
With the league’s leading marksman Luke Benbow, Chris Lait, Mark Duggan and Chris Knight already sidelined, it left Stourbridge with little cutting edge in attack
It was only the efforts of brave Glassboys goalkeeper Matt Gould that kept Spartans at bay during their opening onslaught.
