MAGPIES AIM TO STEAL A BARGAIN

HEBBURN Town striker Cedwyn Scott is hoping to land a dream move after being handed a monthlong trial with Premier League giants Newcastle United.

The Hornets frontman has plundered his way to 20 goals in his last nine games in all competitions as his side moved seven points clear at the top of the Northern League Division One table.

Scott’s form has captured the attention of a number of clubs from higher up the league pyramid and both Sunderland and Morecambe are believed to have watched him in action over the last fortnight.

But it is Premier League Newcastle who have made the first official approach to their South Tyneside neighbours as they negotiated a four-week trial deal for the 21-year-old striker.

Scott’s time with the Magpies’ Under-23’s squad officially got underway on Monday morning and he will train under the watch of coaches Chris Hogg and Peter Ramage throughout November.
