Smith ready for Magpies

HALESOWEN Town boss Paul Smith is relishing locking horns with Maidenhead United in their FA Trophy replay on Tuesday night despite admitting his side may have ‘missed a trick’ in the initial tie.

The Step 4 Yeltz had already knocked out National League North Gateshead and Bradford Park Avenue en route to welcoming the top-flight Magpies last weekend.

And after twice bouncing back after going behind, Smith’s side forced a replay at York Road with a third-round tie at FC Halifax Town in the offing.

Heavy rain put paid to the replay going ahead this week but as Smith prepares his side for the belated trip down to Berkshire this Tuesday night, he admits he can’t help but feel his side could have finished off the job at The Grove.
