KIDDERMINSTER Har-riers maintained the only unbeaten away record in National League North with a priceless win.

For Gateshead it was a first defeat in seven as they once again paid the price for conceding a late goal.

It was a soft and scruffy goal seven minutes from time that eventually settled an evenly fought game.

It proved to be a happy return to Tyneside for Harriers boss Russell Penn, who had two spells at the Heed.

“I’m just so proud of the boys,” said Penn. “We came with a game plan and executed it superbly against a very good team.

“We are going to be a team to beat this year. We faced a fluid Gateshead team but we were fluid ourselves in the first half.
