The International Military Technical Forum, ARMY 2018, was held between August 21- 26, 2018 in Kubinka near Moscow. Held since 2015 it encompasses air, naval, land and police weapons and equipment. Organised and fully supported by the Ministry of Defence of Russia, it combines an exhibition with live demonstration of military equipment as well as an extensive congress programme.

Representatives of 118 countries (including 102 official military delegations) attended the forum this year. The event was attended by 1, 254 Russia showcases state-of-the-art armament ARMY 2018 enterprises and organisations that showcased 26,459 military and dual-use products. Static expositions covered almost 350,000 sq m of area. Eight countries (India, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Slovakia, Turkey) had their national pavilions. 36 new models of armaments and military hardware were demonstrated for the first time at this forum. The Russian defence ministry signed a total of 32 contracts with 20 Russian manufacturers. The value of the orders exceeded 130 billion roubles (nearly $2 billion) for the delivery of 600 pieces of equipment and the modernisation of 1,500 more.
The exposition, ‘Russian Army – Tomorrow’ was presented for the first time. The Armata tank, T-15 armoured vehicle with the new Kinzhal combat module, Derivatsiya-PVO self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery system, Koalitsiya self-propelled howitzer, Bumerang armoured personnel carrier, Kurganets infantry fighting vehicle, Tor-M2DT anti-aircraft missile system, Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile-and-gun system, Arctic-version army snowmobiles and other hardware were on display.
Also on display were the fire and-manoeuvring capabilities of modern military hardware (T-90M, T-80BVM modernised tanks, BMP-1AM Basurmanin infantry combat vehicles, ZU-23M Sparka antiaircraft mounts, Escadron ultra-light strike machines, Nerekhta robotic systems, Tigr-M and Rys armoured vehicles, Nona-S self-propelled artillery guns, Shilka-4 self-propelled weapon systems, Khosta self-propelled howitzers, modernised BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles with Berezhok combat unit, as well as army trucks and tractors based on Ural and KAMAZ automobiles, etc.).
