Malana is a historical and picturesque village located around 50 kms from Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) in the Parvati valley.

This place offers lush green mountains and is surrounded by the Cannabis plant. Malana is considered to be the oldest democracy in the world. Habitants of this village are also believed to be direct descendants of ‘Alexander the Great’s soldiers “. According to another school of thought, Jamlu Rishi (sage) inhabited this place and had laid down rules for the land.

The people of Malana worship Jamlu Rishi as their deity. Malana has its own tradition, culture and constitutional setup, its own set of rules and its own democracy.
