Robbie Deas is enjoying his first season as a full-time Celt, and the young defender is aiming to continue progressing through the ranks at the club.

ROBBIE Deas has only been a full-time professional at Celtic for six months but the 17-year-old is delighted at the differences it has already made to his game.

The defender has seamlessly stepped-up from the U17s, swiftly cementing a starting spot for the Development Side since the league campaign got underway, and he also been a regular in the UEFA Youth League and the U23 Premier League International Cup.

And he told the Celtic View that his rapid progress was down to spending more time working alongside Brendan Rodgers’ side at the club’s top-class training facilities and benefiting from the expertise of coaching staff.

“I have come in full-time this season and it’s just been amazing, being up at Lennoxtown all the time and training with the best,” he said in an exclusive interview. “Training has been unbelievable and I’ve been in with first team when I can and it’s just such a good environment.

“The intensity of the first team is unbelievable – it’s so quick and fast but it’s good to be around. Even with the 20s, the football we have been playing this season has been brilliant and it’s enjoyable to play in.
