While most homes are designed based on the current needs of the homeowners, this HDB flat has been conceptualised for both the present and future needs of its occupants

How you live will ultimately reflect on the style and functionality of your home. However, for this married couple and their two sons, their resale flat is beyond a sanctuary to cater to their living preferences. Revealing their initial design plans, the homeowners say, “In the beginning, we requested for an industrial style. After discussing with our designers from Mesh Werk Studio, we decided on a totally different concept which leaned towards something cosy and classic.”

Besides that, the designers went all out to incorporate future living solutions which will serve the family well for years to come.

“It helped that the homeowners were very receptive towards all our design ideas,” reveal the designers. “They were on board with our proposed designs and were willing to accommodate drastic measures like an improved floor plan and bold materials.” Their first order of business was to establish a better flow of space by re-configuring the living area, storeroom and master bedroom.
