HOME PROFILE

THE OWNERS The homeowners needed a home-away-from-home in Mumbai, fitted with high-end luxuries and conveniences. THE PROPERTY The house is spread over 2,100 sq ft, on the 40th floor of a mid-town, luxe high-rise in Mumbai. It has two en-suite bedrooms, and the master bedroom comes with a walk-in closet. There is an open kitchen, separated from the living and dining spaces by a breakfast island.

LIVING AREA

Patterns are a significant part of the design in this home. All adornment has been accomplished mostly by detailing with either metal or marble inlay, or quilting and faceting. Expansive windows, which let in generous amounts of sunlight throughout the day, are clad in sheers with metallic accents. Get the look The consoles here are modular ones by CraftRED.

Sitting on the fortieth floor of a plush high-rise in mid-town Mumbai, this elegant home showcases a fascinating blend of neutral shades and metallic highlights. A vacation home for a family accustomed to the extravagance of the Middle-East lifestyle, it caters to their mix of traditional and modern needs. Architects Sameer Balvally and Shilpa Jain Balvally, of Studio Osmosis say, “We understood their lifestyle, the cultural influence and their interpretation of luxury, which was a crucial influence and stimulus for conceptualising the design narrative.”

The plush towers that house this apartment have been designed by Armani Casa, and Sameer and Shilpa have extended the design language into the home. “We elevated the design principle a few notches up, in drama and story. We wanted to enhance the sense of space with a harmonious colour palette of neutral colours augmented with detailed furniture, wall cladding, and custom lighting,” they explain.
