Scandinavian Flourish

Studio-M Design breathes life into an impersonal and outdated 3-BHK house in Surat, by employing the subtle art of Scandinavian design to turn it into a warm home with restrained elegance.

From the layout to the colour palette and choice of fabric, interior design plays a vital role in turning a house into a home. That's what Surya Prakash, a businessman living with his wife, two young daughters and parents, sought for his 3-BHK apartment at Citylight town in Surat, which was bare and impersonal in appearance. He commissioned Studio-M Design, a young practice led by interior designer Moiz Faizulla which creates contemporary, functional spaces, whom he had learnt of from positive word of mouth. Giving some insight into the space, Moiz says, “The client and his family had bought this apartment a few years ago and moved in without paying much attention to the decor. They were basically living with loose pieces of furniture which gave a sense of incompleteness.”
