The second outpost of lifestyle brand Dtale at Thrissur, a cultural hub in Kerala, has a contemporary disposition — both in its design and the products it retails.

If you read through the corporate profile of Dtale, they proudly and vehemently state that they believe in karma. When it comes to creating spaces that make people happy, damaging and destroying nature and humanity is not the route they tread. Clearly, this brand — which retails home decor products, art and also renders design services — has its mind and heart in the right place. A lot of credit for the same goes to its founder and managing director, and artist Sreejith Pathangalil who decided to venture into the retail space after realizing that a major part of the Indian market has been flooded with Chinese and Indonesian products for the last 10 to 15 years. “We wanted to bring about a change in the design preferences — from extravagant to minimalistic. Also we wanted to cater to the Indian tastes and habits, and create customized solutions for furniture using Indian artisans,” explains Sreejith. Thus, Dtale - Artisan, Carpentry and More saw the light of day in 2014 with their first outlet in Kochi.
