THE FENDI PEEKABOO

The main inspirations for Fendi's Astrology Summer 2023 capsule were the brand's Spring Summer 1990 and 1993 collections, which featured zodiac names and symbols hand-written and drawn by the late Karl Lagerfeld. Now updated in a jaunty palette of blue, white, pink, brown, orange and black, those very motifs enliven the brand's signature Peekaboo line of bags. Clock the medium Peekaboo ISeeU on the far right here: Its printed canvas exterior is trimmed in Cuoio Romano leather and stitched Selleria-style - a saddle-inspired, hand-done technique unique to Fendi - and constructed to sag to reveal a lush, blue suede lining. Other collectible editions include a small Peekaboo ISeeU hand-threaded with dark blue and white leather strips all along its edges (far left), and a Peekaboo ISeeU with beige nappa leather sides and its front and back hand-braided out of golden, natural-coloured straw (middle).

The house of Chanel has been a committed champion of the film world since founder Gabrielle Chanel started dressing the actresses from the United Artists studio at the request of American producer Samuel Goldwyn in the 1930s.
