I started my career in investment banking after hearing about the extravagant salaries. But I hated it. I felt as grey as the Hugo Boss suit I had to wear – there was no space for creativity. I’ve always loved fashion, but my lack of experience meant I couldn’t get a job. I started interning with a designer friend and quickly realised there wasn’t a platform for new designers online. That’s how Avenue 32 was born – an e-commerce site that showcases the best new labels. I told myself “no risk means no return”. If you’re scared, don’t view it as a negative – let that fear make you work harder.
