It was the moment Tim Tebow had been waiting for. On Jan. 9, as the sun set over his family’s farm outside Jacksonville, Fla., the former NFL quarterback strolled hand in hand across the property with his girlfriend of nine months, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. Stopping by a bench and arbor, Tebow, 31, dropped to one knee—and pulled out a 7.25-carat solitaire diamond ring. “Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, will you marry me?” he said. “I can’t believe this,” gasped Nel-Peters, 23, who answered yes and fought back tears as friends and family emerged from hiding to congratulate the couple. “This is such a surprise!”
