Back With the Hot New Show Shooter, the Veteran Actor and Dad of 3 Is Opening Up About Fame, Family and Overcoming Tough Times.

Even thousands of miles away,Ryan Phillippe can revel in the comforts of home. “Ispent 21⁄2 hours on FaceTime with my son on my last day off,” says the L.A.-based actor, who was filming in Toronto. “He wanted to come join me because he loves [Toronto native] Drake! It always hurts to be away, but there are ways to maintain the connection.” 

In fact, it was because of his children (Ava,17, and Deacon,13,with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon, and Kailani, 5, with former girlfriend Alexis Knapp) that Phillippe, who stars in USA’s new hit Shooter, only recently returned to the screen. “I took a step back from acting for the last few years,” explains the 42-year-old. “I wanted to be around as much as possible while my kids were still small. Now Ava and Deacon are teenagers, so the pressure and the guilt have decreased some. I’m really enjoying acting again, which is nice!”
