Welcome to the final instalment of our six-part video masterclass series with session legend Allen Hinds. In it we are going to examine a challenging Jason Sidwell penned track entitled Soul Magic.

As Allen explains, the tonal centre for the track is G Natural Minor (G-A-Bb-C-D-Eb-F). You can also view this from the relative major key of Bb (Bb-C-D-Eb-F-G-A) as they share the same notes. Allen points out that knowing the theory is good, but the deciding factor is to use your ear to find the good sounding notes.
