As the myriad wedding plans fall into place ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day, the bride-to-be continues to immerse herself in the intricate details of her fairy tale wedding, delighting one local musician by personally calling with a request that he perform at the nuptials. “I was bowled over when Ms Markle called me to ask if I would play during the ceremony,” said 19-year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason. “And, of course, I immediately said, ‘Yes.’ What a privilege to be able to play the cello at such a wonderful event. I can’t wait!”

The personal invitation from the 36-year-old actress is yet another example of the generational change shaping the House of Windsor. “Meghan is a sign of the future,” royal biographer Andrew Morton, author of Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, told Australian journalist Melissa Doyle, on Seven’s Sunday Night program. “She is the future.” Morton believes that while Meghan and Harry, 33, are “both birds with a broken wing,” their experience of seeing their parents divorce will cement their determination to make their marriage work. “There’s no walking away,” Morton said.
