The tale of the couples in the expanding 90 Day-franchise is complex and filled with obstacles. First off, the pairs are from different countries. They get acquainted on social media sites or dating apps, and after they’ve established feelings for each other, they travel across borders and meet each other in person. The process is followed with the couples applying for the K-1 visa, which is a document that allows the engaged partner of a US citizen to live in the country for 90 Days while the couple arranges their wedding. For some, the culture clash, language barriers, and disapproving family members who’re out to ruin their romance prove too much and they eventually split. Others, though, like Florida-native Elizabeth Potthast (29) and her Romanian husband Andrei Castravet (34) withstand the curveballs thrown at them and they get married. But as Andrei and Elizabeth explain, the real work begins when the couple return from their honeymoon and move in together.
