Fans were shocked when Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016. But the real drama was yet to come for the A-listers, who tied the knot in 2014. “Angie and Brad had one of the most acrimonious divorces ever,” reveals an insider. “There were tears, screaming and yelling on both parts.” Though Angelina was initially awarded full custody of their kids (Brad, 55, was investigated by authorities over allegations he was physically abusive with their eldest son, Maddox, now 18, aboard a private plane; the charges were later dropped), the tipster says the 44-year-old actress could barely control her rage as their nasty divorce played out. “While Brad cried and took ownership for what he did,” says the source, “Angelina was busy smashing family photos and trying to excise him from her life.”

Nearly two years after their split, things remained hostile. Public court documents surfaced claiming Angelina was blocking Brad’s attempts to connect with the children, and a judge ruled she could lose primary custody if she didn’t allow a “healthy and strong relationship” with their dad. Two months later, her lawyer, Samantha Bley DeJean, filed papers stating Brad hadn’t paid any “meaningful” child support; he quickly hit back saying he’d loaned Angelina $8 million for a new home and given her more than $1.3 million for her and the kids. While they seemed to have made peace in recent months — Brad’s spending time with the kids while Angelina films Those Who Wish Me Dead, the insider says their breakup from hell is “ongoing.” “Angelina wishes she could wipe out their entire history together.”
